At the top of the year, God is calling for His people to put their trust in Him.
The bible tells us to trust in Him and not lean on our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). But what does that actually mean for us this year? God wants us to have confident faith in His ability to answer our prayers and not be weighed down with worry and anxiety over how it will come to pass.
God is saying to leave the details to Him and just have faith.
We all are believing God to do something amazing in our lives this year. We are praying and seeking God to do the miraculous. But after we get up from praying and seeking Him, we must have trust that God hears and will answer us.
This year, don’t ask God for something, then try to figure out how you are going to obtain it in your own will. For that is doubting God and being unstable. And those that do this cannot expect to receive anything from God, as the bible says.
“Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who wavers (hesitates, doubts) is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and tossed by the wind. For truly, let not such a person imagine that he will receive anything [he asks for] from the Lord.”
James 1:6-7 AMPC
But when we ask, let’s have confident faith in the Lord. God honors us asking and seeking Him. His desire is for us to go to Him for everything. He desires to meet our every need. And Jesus says, “And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened” (Luke 11:9-10 NLT).
So, as we begin this year, trust God with all your requests. He knows what is best for us. Trust Him and His timing. We don’t need to understand before we obey. We are called to trust Him.
Y’all have a great week and remember to uplift, inspire, enlighten, and, more importantly, encourage someone. If you want to reach out or have any prayer requests, you can submit them here.
