“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.” (Proverbs 13:12 NIV)
The definition of hope; a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen, or a feeling of trust.
What are you hoping for? What do you long for in your life right now? What is leading your prayers? How long have you been holding on to this hope that you have? And why are you still holding on?
If you don’t have hope, then you don’t have an expectation for anything to be fulfilled. What reason would we have to believe or have faith?
For, “Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.” (Hebrews 11:1 NLT)
Hope is our evidence of our faith. So, if we don’t have hope, then we don’t have faith.
And the bible says, “It is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him (Hebrews 11:6 NLT)
Hope is essential to have in our walk with God. It’s what makes up our faith. And our faith is solid because of who our hope is in. It’s in God.
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
Hebrews 13:8 NLT
“God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?”
Numbers 23:19 NLT
So be sure to place all your hope in God. Believe in your heart that He is going to do all that He promised. Believe when you pray that God’s ear is inclined to you and that He will answer you.
Let your hope not diminish, because of a moment of uncertainty. But “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:6 NIV)
God’s plan and purpose for you will come to pass. Don’t be anxious about the how, but have an expectation that it will be fulfilled.
