“For the LORD is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation.” (Psalm 100:5 NLT)

It’s God’s love that last. It’s His faithfulness that endures forever. He is faithful to generations, and it’s His LOVE that lasts through them.

God will uphold His word throughout generations. He told Isaac, “I hereby confirm that I will give you all these lands to you and your descendants, just as I solemnly promised Abraham, your father,” and “Do not be afraid, for I am with you and will bless you. I will multiply your descendants, and they will become a great nation. I will do this because of my promise to Abraham, my servant” (Genesis 26: 3, 24 NLT).

The same promise that God gave Abraham applied to Isaac. God made a promise to Abraham and swore it by His own name (Hebrews 6:13). And the Lord’s word cannot come back to Him void or without fulfilling the purpose for which He sent it (Isaiah 55:11).

And God gave David this promise, “If your descendants live as they should and follow me faithfully with all their heart and soul, one of them will always sit on the throne of Israel” (1 Kings 2:4 NLT).

And although David’s descendants turned from God, the bible says in 1 Kings 11, “for the sake of my servant David”. Because of David, God didn’t tear the entire Kingdom away from his descendants.

And because of God’s promise to one man, a generation of people were spared. And Jesus comes from the lineage of David.

God’s plan and promises are always bigger than us. For He sees beyond what we can see. And if we remain faithful to Him, then the lineage that comes from us shall be blessed.

Because God honors those that diligently seek Him. And He is faithful to the one who calls Him Lord in word and in deed.

And it’s His unfailing love that keeps us. For the Lord remains faithful to us.

That means, despite the times that we may not be faithful to Him, He’s still faithful to us.

We all have moments in our walk when we know that we should be doing more. Whether it be praying, fasting, reading our word, or even evangelizing. God still has mercy on us and doesn’t punish us for a moment of weakness.

But as Paul says, He is made great in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

And God knows the moments that we will get distracted or fall off before we even do. But even through our low points, He is still forgiving and merciful.

“The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.”

Lamentations 3:22-23 NLT

So, rest today in His faithfulness and know that God will never leave you or forsake you.
