Today, we reflect on what Christ did for us. He gave up his life for us. He restored us to right standing with God. He fulfilled the Scriptures concerning himself.

Today, Jesus bought our freedom. And what are we doing with the freedom that Jesus paid such a high price for? What are we doing with the new life that Christ has given us?

“I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

John 10:10 NKJV

Jesus died so that we may be free from the penalty of sin. He has given us a new covenant with the blood that he shed. He restored us to right standing with God.

“For this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many.”

Matthew 26: 28 NLT

So, what are we doing with this new covenant and life that God has given to us?

As we sit in the memory of Jesus’ great sacrifice for us, think about the ways that you can honor Christ with this new life.

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”

1 Corinthians 10:31 NLT

And, “Give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God” (Romans 6:12-13 NLT).
