During our walk with the Lord, we may forget we are fighting against an actual enemy. Last week, we learned the importance of seeking His kingdom. But as we seek God, the enemy will oppose us.
The enemy wants to keep us rooted in places of comfort and at elementary stages in our walk with God. Our advisory does not want to see us progress. A method the enemy uses is he entices us to stay in a place of comfortability.
God may give us rest and peace for a season. But it is only for a season. We must move forward to obtain the new promises of God.
Some Christians want to live in comfort and manage their walk with God based on their own convenience. In order to experience the power of God on a new level, you must first make yourself uncomfortable.
Abraham was called to leave all he knew. The Lord told Moses to go back to deliver His people after 20 years in the desert. Joshua had to cross the Jordan and fight to claim the land that God had promised His people.
If you feel stagnant in the same season, then start by fasting. By fasting, you are telling God that you are serious about your walk with Him.
We, as Christians, must get out of the routine of our religion. God has called us to serve not only on Sundays, but every day.
What areas of your life can you glorify God in?
Start by evaluating yourself to see if you are doing what God has ordained for us to do.
These are things we need to do every day in our faith walk:
- Let our light shine before others to give God glory (Matthew 5:14-16)
- Make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19)
- Not operating as a slave to sin (John 8:34-36)
- Remain in Him (John 15:4)
- Not live in our flesh (Romans 8:12-13)
- Present our bodies as living sacrifices (Romans 12:1)
- Operate in our spiritual gifts to help one another (1 Corinthians 12:4-7)
- Walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7)
- Produce the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22)
- Not get weary in welldoing (Galatians 6:9)
- Pray without ceasing and to rejoice always (1 Thessalonians 5:17-18)
The Lord is calling for His people to get into position. It is time for us to go deeper into the Lord. It is time for us to seek and experience Him like never before.
In your everyday life, how can you give God glory?
Walk into the Unknown
We cannot be fearful to step out on faith. For fulfillment of our promise is on the other side of our fear and uncertainty.
God did not say that He would reveal all the plans to us in Jeremiah 29:11. The Lord says that HE KNOWS the plans He has for us. The Bible repeatedly tells us to trust in the Lord. For we must trust Him despite our uncertainty about the future.
For, our faith in Christ saved us.
You become right with God by believing in your heart, and declaring your faith openly saves you.
Romans 10:10 NLT
When God called Abraham, He told him to go out from among his family. God did not give Abraham a direction to go in. He just told him to go.
God told him to go into a land that He would show him. Abraham had to first obey and move (naturally) for God to reveal His plans for him and fulfill His promises.
For some, God is calling you to move and align with Him. So that He may bless you with the things that you desire. But you first must step out in faith and believe that God will lead you.
The steps of a [good and righteous] man are directed and established by the Lord, And He delights in his way [and blesses his path].
Psalms 37:23 AMP
So, this week, think about the areas where God is calling you. The key is to use discernment and listen closely to what God is instructing you to do in this season. Where are the areas He is calling you to step out in faith in? Do not overlook the small things. But be mindful that God uses every aspect of our lives. He will use every opportunity to grow us and mold us into who He has called us to be. Have a great week and remember to uplift, inspire, enlighten, and, more importantly, encourage somebody.
