What is it that you need in this season of your life?

We walk around depleted, distraught with God because of the things we do not currently have. Or we are unyielding to the process that He currently has us in.

Before we can obtain what we need in our current season, we must first evaluate what God needs from us.

In prayer, start by asking the Father to reveal to you what He wants to do in you and through you this season. Sometimes God must do in us before He does for us. The Father may be trying to uproot some things in your life. But you are fighting against the will of the Lord, trying to hold on to those old things.

We say, ‘Lord let your will be done’ or ‘Order my steps’, but don’t take into account what that will look like. We think the Lord’s will is our will for our lives. And we think the Lord ordering our steps means that we will never be in dark or low places. These are false truths.

We will all go through wilderness seasons like the people of Israel. Seasons where God feels far from us, much like Hezekiah. Seasons that we experience overwhelming dark times like Job. These seasons of our life that we experience are meant to grow us and build character.

God’s plan for our life is perfect, and He does have good things in store for us. But God is the author of our lives. He knows what comes next for us. And we must trust Him and His process of preparation and purging.

So, in your prayer time, ask the Lord to align your will to His.

Get Into Position

To help us align with the will of God, we must seek His kingdom first.

But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right-the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.

Matthew 6:33 AMP

We have to seek God in every aspect of our lives. It goes much further than just what we do. But do we have the right Spirit? Are we quick-tempered? Do we worry a lot? Are we anxious? Are we kind? Do we have self-control over our bodies?

If not, then we are not exercising the fruits of the Spirit and operating out of our God-given character. And before we can put his kingdom first externally in our lives, we have to do a check in our Spirit.

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these such things!

Galatians 5:22-23 NLT

The Lord has imparted His Spirit upon us and claimed us as His own through the gift of salvation. We are called to be ‘new creatures’ and ‘born-again’. We cannot operate and think how we used to. Not only in the unsaved seasons of our life, but in previous seasons too.

God wants to do a new thing in us. And for us to obtain the new we must first die to ourselves. And to experience the new we must do something new.

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.

Galatians 5:24-25 NLT

To position ourselves in the will of God, we must examine and seek out the areas where we need to die at.

For the first part of this series, we encourage you to go into prayer and ask God:

  • Are we displaying the fruits of the Spirit?
  • What needs to die in us this season?
  • Whose will is governing my life? The Lord’s or my own?
  • Let my will align with the Lord’s perfect will for my life.
  • Teach me not to resist the carrying out of your will in my life.

So, we encourage you to seek out God this week and ask Him to reveal the areas that don’t align with Him. And as He does reveal those areas, pray and fast to align with what He is revealing to you. Just like Hannah in 1 Samuel, she had a need that only God could fulfill, and she knew who to turn to. Y’all have a great week and remember to uplift, inspire, enlighten, and, more importantly, encourage someone. If you want to reach out or have any prayer requests, you can submit them here.

Blessings, oh how I truly enjoyed the teaching and encouraging words. Yes we must examine ourselves first before we can be vessels to be used by God. May God continue to give you His wisdom to encourage us, especially in these crucial times. I will be praying much for you and your ministry.
